ACCIÓN

Our goal

The Sustainable Communities for Climate Action in the Yucatan Peninsula (ACCIÓN) project aims to enhance the climate resilience of vulnerable communities, ecosystems, and productive systems along the Yucatan Peninsula's coasts through ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and sustainable livelihoods.

Value
proposal

ACCIÓN draws on 30 years of expertise from the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature (FMCN) in marine-coastal issues. This project, co-executed by FMCN and Sureste Sostenible and funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is currently in the design phase and is scheduled for implementation from 2025 to 2030.

Lines of work

1

Ecosystem-based adaptation in coastal and marine landscapes.

2

Ecosystem-based adaptation in protected coastal and marine areas.

3

Sustainable financing to scale EbA projects.

4

Knowledge management and alignment with existing regional public policies and initiatives.

Environmental and Social Management System (documents)

To minimize environmental and social risks while maximizing benefits for communities and ecosystems, ACCIÓN will implement FMCN's Environmental and Social Management System (SGAS). The SGAS will include an Environmental and Social Action Plan, a Stakeholder Engagement Plan, an Indigenous Peoples Engagement Plan, and a Gender Action Plan.
